The
rare 1HD-FT, mechanically injected 24 valve 6 cyl, factory turbo
charged, direct injected diesel engine from Japan. The engine offers
an impressive 168 horsepower at 3600 RPMs and 280 ft/lbs of torque at 2500
RPMs, and share the more powerful 24 valve head of it's fully electronic
big brother, the 1HD-FTE, which would be a tough engine to swap because
they are electronic. It is seen here with the automatic transmission
and transfer case it was originally mated to.
